Updated 08/03/26 · Edited by orgAI systems make more and more qualified and complex desicions, take own actions and interact in the real world. Still, most AI safety solutions today focus on individual models or agents, I believe that we also need independent safety solutions. In part because we cannot trust to 100% that the companies building these models and agents always will succed with their safety and in part because many builders of models and systems might not care about safety, especially if they for instance are rogue actors.
This project aims to develop a model-agnostic runtime governance platform/system, which operates between AI systems and the environments where they act. The system is designed to authorize actions, allow human oversight, maintain auditability and support accountable deployment across different AI models and organizations.
The long term vision for my system is that it would become a global governance layer that can coordinate safety in the use of advanced AI models working in different sectors and jurisdictions, independent of who the provider is. A simple way to describe the idea is comparing it to the role of the common internet protocols when the internet started.
- During the project time I will continue to develop the system, carry out adversarial testing, improve the runtime governance capabilities and validate work and approach with researchers and enterprise partners. The goal being a working research prototype which demonstrates how advanced autonomous AI systems can work under independent, external governance.
- Today I've received interest from a research group at a known US University that is interested in testing my system. I'm writing a project proposal to send to them. No funding for this yet though. I can give more info in private messages.

Updated 08/03/26 · By grantmaking.aiI believe making individual AI models safer is necessary, but will probably not be enough. As AI systems become more autonomous, we also need independent governance that is not controlled by the same organizations building the models.
My view is that reducing catastrophic AI risk will require several independent safety layers. Runtime governance can provide authorization, human oversight and auditability across different AI models, organizations and jurisdictions, regardless of who developed the underlying system.
If Lisa Intel succeeds, I hope it can become part of a global governance layer that helps societies deploy increasingly capable AI systems more safely, while maintaining accountability and meaningful human oversight.

An update: I'm discussing a joint application for a research grant together with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida. We are discussing project structure, partner roles and UF’s contribution. The proposed project would test Lisa in realistic multi-agent and multi-principal environments, including scalability, latency, partial adoption and the ability to prevent or attribute unauthorized actions across trust boundaries. This would give us an external technical test environment, independent evaluation. A decision for a grant takes around 6 months, so my ask for a grantmaking grant is still important. Now also as a bridge, until the research grant might arrive.
